About

The Oread Collective is a voluntary association of activists dedicated to social justice and collective liberation.

Founded in 2024 by nine experienced queer and women activists with a history in various social justice causes, our first official action took place in March of 2025.

We recognise that the land named Tiohtià:ke was never ceded.

Our Values

We are:

What is collective liberation?

We created the Oread Collective to unite activists from various social justice backgrounds under a single banner. Where we see oppression, we oppose it.

We don’t fight for black lives because we’re racialised, nor trans rights because we are queer, nor animal rights because we are farmed.

But there is no law of nature that says war can only be waged against foreigners, nor that deportation is only a danger to immigrants, nor that slaughterhouses can only kill non-humans.

As long as oppressive systems are allowed to exist, they can be turned against anyone.

To permit the existence of injustice threatens all of us; to stand up for the rights of others is to defend our own.

To stand in solidarity with others, and receive their solidarity in return – to lift each other out of oppressive systems – this is the essence of collective liberation.
